SAILBOAT CANVAS

The Cover Loft is a full service custom canvas shop. Annapolis’ oldest and best offers custom design and fabrication of almost anything! We have been in business for 40 years and our experience shows in our top quality products and customer satisfaction. We custom fabricate all kinds of dodgers, biminis, sail covers, miscellaneous small and large covers, bags, interior and exterior cushions, or anything else you might want covered!

We can manufacture a custom fit sailcover to your specifications whether you are a local or long distance customer. Submit your measurements via email or contact us and we can give you an estimate. We custom fit to your needs. We can give you an estimate on time and materials to replace your isinglass. For cushions we offer many fabrics at our store for local customers, including ultraleather which is very soft, easy to clean, and functional! Sunbrella is a dyed acrylic and is very durable. It offers a variety of colors, stripes, and textures, including a Furniture Fabric line, Comfort Sling, and Jacquards. Phifertex® is a vinyl mesh screen and is recommended for the bottom of all exterior cushions. Sunsure® is a thicker mesh that can be used with the closed cell foam. Vinyl is a fine option, but it needs Phifertex® on the bottom when used for exterior cushions to allow it to drain. There are several ways to attach cushions including Velcro, snaps, screws, and studs. Email or call with your needs and we can give you an estimate no matter where you are located. If your cushions fit perfectly send them to us to duplicate!

Our staff is experienced and quality is of utmost importance. We reinforce all of our covers, use double stitching, and only the best materials. U-zips, extra glass area, zipper pockets for easy removal, and custom frames are offered for your comfort and satisfaction. Let us help you design and make your cover to your specifications!

DODGERS

The Cover Loft manufactures a full line of canvas products. Dodgers consist of isinglass, which is a clear or tinted vinyl referred to as “glass”, that makes a see through window or panel in your canvas. We offer 30 gauge, 40 gauge glass, or Strataglass®. You can customize your dodger’s height and width as well as handrails on the side(s) and back with reinforcement where necessary. Frames and installation are included in the price. Add a connector, from your dodger to your bimini, for maximum coverage, wings, or window covers on your dodger for protection. We manufacture dodgers to your specifications and fit to your boat, if you are located in the Maryland area. Due to our high quality and custom fitting, we do not produce dodgers out of our service area. Send your measurements for us to estimate the cost of repairing your dodger’s isinglass.

BIMINIS

Biminis can be attached or free standing tops that provide shade and rain protection. The height and length depends on your preference. Enclosures can be built around your bimini with lots of glass, zippered pockets, or anything else you might want. All tops include installation, mounting hardware, and waterproofing. You can add a window and cover to your bimini for viewing your sails and cutouts customized for your boat layout. Add a connector, from your dodger to your bimini, for maximum coverage and protection.

Our custom biminis start at $1500. We can also duplicate or repair your existing bimini if it fits well and you mail it to us.

SAIL COVERS

The Cover Loft manufactures a full line of sail covers with different styles and designs to fit your specifications. It is fastened in the front by a zipper with many reinforcements throughout the cover. Cutouts and other options are available.

Our sail covers start at $45 per foot. We can give you an estimate with a few measurements and some details about cutouts, cover style, and preferences. Some options are only available for local customers, so include your contact information. We also can duplicate or repair your existing sail cover if it fits well and you mail it to us.

SMALL COVERS

The Cover Loft fabricates many small covers for your convenience including burgee covers, fender covers, grill covers, hatch covers, toerail covers, lifeline covers, instrument covers, interior curtains, motor covers, privacy screens, tiller covers, step pads, wheel/binnacle covers, weather cloths, window covers, winch covers, windlass covers, and anything else you need!

Most of the items are custom and we would need to fit them to your boat, but motor covers, winch covers, and grill covers are made standard and can be ordered by long distance customers. Send us your measurements and we can custom make your burgee covers. We can duplicate or repair your existing covers if they fit well. Just mail them to us!

Winch covers are available by size. Keep the grit out and prolong the lubrication life of your winches. Email us and give us the color of Sunbrella®, the diameter, and height for each winch and we will give you a quote. We include elastic bungee cord to hold your winch cover down. Custom winch covers cost $35 – $55.

Grill Covers are available in two sizes. The Magma grill is an elliptical grill, and is made from Sunbrella® fabric with a drawstring.

LARGE COVERS

The Cover Loft fabricates many large covers for your convenience including awnings, connectors, dinghy covers, winter covers, and more!

Connectors are typically fastened at both ends to connect two tops or between a top and the boat. For example, a connector can connect your dodger to your bimini, for maximum coverage and protection. 

Most of the items are custom and we would need to fit them to your boat, if you are located in the Maryland area. For long distance customers, we can duplicate or repair your existing covers if they fit well. Just mail them to us!
